Events for the Week: Detecting Intersubjective Parasites, Marketing for Hippies, and Building an Alembic
Hey beautiful people,
In this training, you will learn and practice the essential inquiry skills for restoring, enhancing, and protecting your “natural intelligence” for making sense of things in life, which is the key to psychological self-reliance and well-being. You can watch Jill’s series at The Stoa here.
Here are the events for the week:
The Trolls Under the Bridge: Intersubjective Parasitology, Computational Demonology, and Things That Go BUMP in the Dark Night of the Soul w/ Evan McMullen. October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st @ 6:00 PM ET. RSVP here.
Evan’s Philosopher-in-Residence series at The Stoa continues tomorrow. This series explores what Evan calls “intersubjective parasites” (demons, egregores, etc.) that haunt our social fields. For the 2nd session, Evan will discuss how to detect signs of intersubjective parasitism in our own lived experience and social fields, or how to find vampires and give them a chance to choose to be alive again. You can watch the first session of the series above.
Marketing for Hippies w/ Tad Hargrave. October 11th @ 12 PM ET. RSVP here.
Tad Hargrave from Marketing for Hippies visits The Stoa to teach us ethical marketing for uncertain times. As Tad says: ethical because it needs to be honest and feel good to everyone. Marketing because it needs to work. This session will be helpful for entrepreneurs, coaches, and those orienated doing good in the world, who want to maintain their integrity while making the money they deserve.
Building an Alembic w/ Erik Davis, Michael Taft, and Kati Devaney. October 13th @ 5:00 PM ET. RSVP here.
What would The Stoa be like if it was an in-person event space? It would probably be something like the Berkeley Alembic. This is a new space in Berkeley, California that is dedicated to meditation, movement, spiritual creativity, scientific experimentation, and psychedelic integration. The Alembic hopes to catalyze new cultural forms by bringing together groups, individuals, practices, and sensibilities that don’t always find themselves under the same roof. In this session, the three founders of The Alembic - Erik Davis, Michael Taft, and Kathryn Devaney - talk about how it all fits together.
