Are you playing or being played?
Are you a dead player or a live player?
What game are you currently playing in your ecology of games?
Is it a finite game or an infinite one?
Questions, questions, and more questions for us metagamers to ponder. Questions are great, but I do not care about questions right now. I am playing the long game at the moment, and I am playing it with you. I am listening to Taylor Swift as well. Yep. I like listening to super cool obscure indie bands that nobody has ever heard of, but I do have a soft spot, and a hard spot, for bubbly manufactured pop songs too. Plus, Miss Swift is obviously one of those chicks a Stoic would want to rescue from the cult state.
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you're in my head?
'Cause I know that it's delicate (delicate)
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it too soon to do this yet?
'Cause I know that it's delicate
Long games are delicate. Very delicate. One wrong move, then you fuck it up. What is a game if it does not contain danger though? That was a rhetorical question, but it does have an answer: a game that a Stoic would never want to play.
Long games are the type of games in which the players are crazy enough to risk going crazy. They are the games where you become bold enough to attempt to steal a culture, and seduce it. They are games where you risk acting out a comic book plotline, and attempt to win a liminal war, and emancipate the daemon.
It is a type of game where you risk getting a meta-boner, then try to be chill with the embarrassment of getting it in front of others. Only spiritual beta males get embarrassed by their meta-boners. Most importantly, long games are the type of games where you become possessed, where your eyes are glued to the ball, and you cannot take them off of it, even if you wanted to.
Playing the long game is exhausting, it is risky, and it is not comfortable. What is the motivation to keep playing? That is private. But yeah, it is not that private, and it is hard for me to be private these days. It is kind of delicate, but I just want to cry. It is my preferred indifferent to cry with people who are deeply beautiful. Tears are the lubricant to communitas, and communitas is where beauty will be found. And yeah, in order to find real love, you might have to kill the love story once and for all, and attempt to create a new world, and risk dying when Rome falls.
I am very glad that Stoics get meta-boners when they take a risk.
